Scribe Tools for InDesign Update

• Review Centering Settings reviews the document’s paragraph styles for centered styles that may not be truly centered within their text frames.
• Apply Center/Right-Aligning Tabs to Paragraph Style applies tab stop settings to the selected paragraph style. This tool is particularly useful for setting up running heads but can be used for any style that requires a center-aligning tab and a right-aligning tab.

Round-Tripping of Alternate Text

Alternate text encoded in images in ScML files will be round-tripped to and from Word files with an extended figure callout format. An upcoming update to Scribe Tools will include image placement tools that make it easier to embed alternate text directly into images when working in InDesign, making it possible to keep your images and alternate text together at all stages of the publishing process.

A new update to the SAI and SAI Lite has been released to fix a compatibility error introduced in a recent update to Microsoft Word for Mac (version 16.9). The compatibility error appears during installation or startup and may contain the text “Error 4231 (This command is not available.)”

Default Style Galleries

The SAI now comes with a selection of preset style galleries to help you compose Word documents.

Load Default Gallery: Allows you to load one of the preset style galleries created by Scribe.

• Add styles to a gallery by typing or copying style names in a comma-separated list above the style selection boxes and clicking Add Styles.
