Quarterly Update Schedule
Starting in 2015, Scribe will adhere to a quarterly update schedule. Updates to the Digital Hub, the SAI, and Scribe Tools for InDesign will be released and announced in this regular manner, with the exception of bug fixes, which will occur as needed. Conversion Changes
- The Articulate Spacing Distinctions setting has been expanded to correctly adjust spacing in a broader range of contexts.
- List items in the ePub 3 toc.xhtml file now receive a style attribute specifying that they should never be numbered.
- All ePub HTML will receive an *.xhtml extension.
- The Hub will nest navigation points for the ePub (in the toc.ncx or the toc.xhtml) based on their hierarchy.

Performance Improvements
Last night some behind-the-scenes infrastructure and configuration changes were made that should improve your overall experience while using the Digital Hub or any other Scribe Inc. website.
While none of the changes should result in any feature or functionality regressions, please contact us immediately if you experience any unexpected behaviour.
Conversion Changes
- IDTT tables use most common cell style in a row for the blank cells in that row (issue #122)
- Additional XML whitespace cleanup performed in sam and ScML output
- The "Articulate Spacing Distinctions" setting will ignore table, figure, and media styles when making spacing decisions about elements because those most often do not belong in the main text flow
- Landmarks navigation in ePub 3 lists the title page type as "bodymatter", allowing conformant e-readers to open there
If you created a new user account in our system on 2014-06-16 or 2014-06-17 you may need to contact a Scribe administrator to unlock or regenerate that account. We experienced a database corruption that may prevent them from accessing the system. Please contact us through the support area of our site.
New Settings
- Convert Notes: removes footnotes and endnotes embedded in a Word document and will place them at the end of the resulting file.
- Compose Language Styles: identifies and adds specialized character styles words containing characters outside the basic ASCII range.
- Articulate Spacing Distinctions: applies the compositional distinctions necessary to achieve proper spacing in a typeset book or e-book.
Conversion Changes:
- Hyperlinks: Hyperlink information is now retained in file
A subset of user accounts within the Accounts and FTP systems may require a password reset. If you have difficulties logging onto your account with one of these systems, please go to scribenet.com/security and request a new password. This will resolve your issue.
